Most importantly, he has already endorsed McCain and campaigned for him and attack Obama for him - he couldn't possibly be considered as a VP. Second, he is for the Iraq war. Sure he could say that, but he doesn't believe it, so why would he say it? He has burned many bridges on the Democratic party due to his endorsement and pro-Iraq views. He also is a good friend of McCain's, he would never run against him now... If Obama wants experience/credibility, there are plenty other and better candidates on the Democratic side - like Bill Richardson.
