Recently Mike Huckabee has signed the “No Amnesty Pledge” from numbersUSA: pledging in part to no “amnesty or any other special path to citizenship for the millions of the foreign nationals unlawfully present in the United States.”

In my opinion this is completely illogical and ridiculous. Perhaps its just an election stunt and he’s doing it to garner votes and there is a touchback condition to it, but even to say such a thing is just a lie or completely naive. There is no way we can send back every illegal immigrant in America! Even if we knew where they all were, and we made a condition separating those who were born here, we STILL couldn’t do it.

First of all it would be bad policy. Illegal immigrants do play a part in our economy and our country, whether we like it or not. Although they can and do create big problems in large numbers, they can create problems if they’re non-existent as well. Also, how do we find all of these people? And then where is the HUGE amount of money in police support to do all the work in finding, capturing, and sending them home?

No amnesty is illogical and out of the question for anybody who sincerely wants to solve this issue. First we need to secure the borders. Then we need to focus on how we can fix the damage already done, and the only logical way to do that is send some home and give amnesty with a penalization for the rest. It may be hard to swallow, and its not fair. But its the only way, and as adults you must swallow what is best even if its difficult. Especially when it has to do with the best interests of your country and millions of Americans!

_____________________________________________________________

I would like to commend Governor Huckabee on being a politician who can actually think LOGICALLY and INTELLIGENTLY on issues – at least sometimes considering my next post…

Recently Huckabee has gotten a lot of crap from the press and gay activists especially for this comment that supposedly equates homosexuality to bestiality. This is not true at all, and only by severe misrepresentation and stupidity can you come to such a conclusion.

What Huckabee is actually saying is that due to the slippery slope, if we allow homosexuals to have a traditional marriage under the same idea as a marriage between a man and woman, whose to say 50 years from now someone won’t make the exact same arguments to the court about polygamy, sex with minors, and YES bestiality??? One uses the EXACT same arguments for gay marriage as one would use to legalize those 3 things. Perhaps they aren’t as acceptable today, but neither way gay marriage 50 years earlier from today!

Huckabee understands that by granting this request for gay marriage, we are once again putting dust on the thin line that defines American ethics. Once again allowing us to trample the line without even realizing it…

Mark my words, if gay marriage becomes law, it will only be a short time before somebody realizes that by using the same arguments it is unconstitutional for the government to say its illegal for a 40 year old to have sex with a 16 year old. Why do they get to put limits on love? And why can’t a psychologist make love to a patient? Its not manipulation baby! Its love! And why can’t I marry more then one person? I’ve got enough love to pass around! And finally, if a dog IS mans best friend, then shouldn’t we be encouraged to marry our best friends???

You decide. But always remember that your decisions may have consequences that go beyond your wildest dreams…

So let me ask a question of those of you whose intelligence may vastly outweigh my own… Without the bible and traditional “laws” (which basically all come from the bible), why would it be wrong to practice polygamy, sex with minors, and even bestiality? Besides the obvious “it doesn’t feel right”…? If we want a COMPLETE separation of church and state (which by the way thats not what the founding fathers intended), then I think those things as well as obviously gay marriage ought to be accepted! Why wait 50 more years to do what we can logically do now?

I work in the US NJ Senators office and we’ve gotten TONS of calls by people INFURIATED that illegal immigrants get social security and health care benefits!

Lets look at this logically shall we? How do people get jobs? Not jobs like cutting grass but real jobs where you need personal identification? They need a social security #! But how do they get a social security # if you’re an illegal alien? You either steal it or borrow somebody elses! Now how do people get benefits? They’re paid out to the name of the person on the social security card! So HOW IN THE WORLD could illegal immigrants get benefits? Just looking at this logically it doesn’t fit at all!

I have strong opinions about illegal immigration as well, but you can’t make up lies to support your point. If you have a good point to make, then you shouldn’t have to make up lies (and there are PLENTY of TRUTHFUL points to make!). These ridiculous ideas put forth by people like Lou Dobbs, Republican pundits, and Fox News ought to be silenced. If we’re to fix this issue lets have REAL DEBATE, not hate speech based on faulty evidence!

The “health care” illegals “supposedly” get is actually free hospital care that MUST be given at emergency hospitals if you wait in the emergency room. Although I don’t think illegals should get actual health care, if someone got shot: Please fix them up! It doesn’t cost us THAT much, and I don’t see how we can just let them die because they shouldn’t be here…

As for “social security”, the only legislation that has been talked about (I don’t even think its been passed, nor necessarily that it will be passed) is legislation that would simply give illegals their money back for the benefits they paid towards but never got. Now you can say that they should have to pay towards benefits anyways and not get anything back, but don’t act like there is NO ARGUMENT to be made that if they aren’t getting any benefits, they shouldn’t have to pay for them…

Another common sense argument – ILLEGAL ALIENS CAN’T VOTE! Nor is the legal Hispanic population so high that congress would actually make such crazy legislation giving illegals health care and social security – whats the point? Politicians aren’t getting anything from it… It would only make them lose votes, not gain them!

If ANYTHING, we’re BENEFITING because illegal immigrants are paying TOWARDS benefits but not actually GETTING any… Now I don’t like illegal immigration either, but quit the hate speech! Lets put our cards on the table…

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Likely Republican primary voters in Florida oppose making same-sex marriage legal but say abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Tuesday evening.

Less than 20 percent of the polled GOP voters said that abortion should not be legal under any circumstances, while 43 percent said it should be legal under “a few” circumstances. Nineteen percent said the procedure should be legal under all circumstances, and the remaining 15 percent said it should be legal under “most” circumstances.

On the question of whether same-sex marriages should be recognized as legally valid, 77 percent answered no while 19 percent answered yes.

_________________________________________________________

Oddly CNN titled this as “Republicans Oppose Making Abortion Illegal”, but this seems to me an incredible sight for all pro-life groups! Like abortion or not, there is NO WAY it will EVER be illegal in ALL circumstances – it just won’t happen… I can say that for a fact. But what we SHOULD argue for is it being illegal except in the cases of physical danger to the mother, incest, and rape. These cases make up less then 10% of abortions and is a good/possible concession to abortion groups if pro-lifers ever want to get any real legislation passed.

Looking at Florida’s polling, this actually seems possible! Those who would support legislation making abortion legal except in certain cases are a WHOPPING 63%!!! And Florida is a pretty liberal state compared to Idaho, Utah, and Texas. If Florida is polling at 63%, I can’t imagine what many other states are polling at… Not to mention that CNN did the poll, so the numbers could actually be higher!

Although I’ve done a lot of research on the issue of abortion recently, I had no idea the polling numbers were so high. I, as many others, must have been deceived by the loud voices of pro-choice supporters…
