WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Likely Republican primary voters in Florida oppose making same-sex marriage legal but say abortion should be legal in at least some circumstances, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Tuesday evening.
Less than 20 percent of the polled GOP voters said that abortion should not be legal under any circumstances, while 43 percent said it should be legal under “a few” circumstances. Nineteen percent said the procedure should be legal under all circumstances, and the remaining 15 percent said it should be legal under “most” circumstances.
On the question of whether same-sex marriages should be recognized as legally valid, 77 percent answered no while 19 percent answered yes.

Oddly CNN titled this as “Republicans Oppose Making Abortion Illegal”, but this seems to me an incredible sight for all pro-life groups! Like abortion or not, there is NO WAY it will EVER be illegal in ALL circumstances – it just won’t happen… I can say that for a fact. But what we SHOULD argue for is it being illegal except in the cases of physical danger to the mother, incest, and rape. These cases make up less then 10% of abortions and is a good/possible concession to abortion groups if pro-lifers ever want to get any real legislation passed.
Looking at Florida’s polling, this actually seems possible! Those who would support legislation making abortion legal except in certain cases are a WHOPPING 63%!!! And Florida is a pretty liberal state compared to Idaho, Utah, and Texas. If Florida is polling at 63%, I can’t imagine what many other states are polling at… Not to mention that CNN did the poll, so the numbers could actually be higher!
Although I’ve done a lot of research on the issue of abortion recently, I had no idea the polling numbers were so high. I, as many others, must have been deceived by the loud voices of pro-choice supporters…
