Before the start of the World Series Wednesday night, the Colorado Congressman issued a challenge to the former Massachusetts governor: whichever candidate’s home-team wins the series gets to stay in the presidential race — the other has to drop out.
“Governor Romney, I propose we make a bet on the World Series.” Tancredo said in an issued statement. “I will agree to drop out of the race if the Red Sox win on the condition that you will agree to drop out if the Rockies win.”
This is the second such life-or-death bet Trancredo has attempted to make with Romney. Last week the Colorado Republican challenged Romney to a trap-shooting contest in New Hampshire on the condition the loser abandons his presidential bid. (CNN)

Obviously Governor Romney did not take the bet, as he is currently the front runner in most early state polling data. Still, how can a serious politician put something as serious as a Presidential nomination on the line for a game? Or trap-shooting?? This shows a lack of leadership and responsibility. Obviously Congressman Tancredo is very low in the polls (like 1%), and he too is doing this just for the headlines, but the symbolism of such an act is staggering.
For a U.S. Congressman to make such a statement is embarrassing to Congress, Colorado, and the country as a whole. Especially considering his comments about running for President only for immigration, and that we should bomb Muslim Holy Sites in retalitation for the actions of Muslim extremists… I don’t even want him in Congress anymore for such absurdities! He’s turning out to be a bigger embarrassment then the Colorado Rockies in the World Series! Luckily though, he has already reported his retirement from politics at the end of the Presidential nomination, so I won’t have to question how citizens could vote him into Congress again…
